Checking out the new Memorial East High School that has been open about a month. This is a twin to Memorial West High School on the other side of town. It doesn't provide all the shade and neat drop offs like the old school that had all those connecting awnings between buildings with ramps and stairs.
When I got back from a 9-mile mountain bike ride I looked up the weather on intellicast. Fort Davis weather came up and it was 92° with a heat index of 92°. I plugged in Victoria and it was 86° with a heat index of 102°. Got up to 94° later, but it was hot enough at 11 AM when I was riding.
Drove from Ft. Davis to Marfa and arrived just in time for the Food Shark to open. The WC was filming for a special. Cantore was standing around next to us reading phone messages and chatting with people. There about and hour and they were still filming when we left. We were interviewed and a small part was cut into this segment that made the final piece. We were in a few scenes ordering food and at the end as it faded out too. Marfa is always interesting!
Mr. D could not believe the police wanted to race him, but he went for it. The bicycle police were very nice to him and let him lead for about 8-laps around the track and one dropped out. Mr. D thought he wore him out. We really enjoyed the race.
Mr D brought his new BMX bike over here on Christmas morning. We all stood out front of the house amazed at how fast he picked up riding this larger bike with a hand brake.
